Meet the Team

Ed Smith owns and operates companies in the video production and advertising space which, since 2003, have been consecutively ranked among the top 10 companies within the state of New Mexico. He is a champion among his community, having helped many non-profit and patient advocacy organizations bring their causes forward successfully through his unparalleled media creation and advertising support. 

Ed knows firsthand how difficult rare disease can be on the patient and family. In 2003, his mother Dawn was diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis, a rare autoimmune disorder that can be fatal when left untreated. She was not able to manage the condition via traditional medication regimen. While she survived a specialized treatment, it left her with severe osteoporosis, spinal fractures, and increasing levels of pain until her death in 2017. 

Ed and his organization have been huge supporters of ATRX Research Alliance from the beginning. They sponsored the creation of our wonderful documentary, helped in the creation of this website, and were some of our earliest financial supporters. Through their work, they have helped create awareness of ATR-X among researchers and in the community in general.
